Hi guys and welcome to a new guitar
tutorial. In this video I’m going to show you how to play the song Numb The Pain. And I’m going to show you two different ways to play it: The original way as I just played. But if you can’t play bar chords I’m going to show you a really
easy way to play the song. So we start with the original way and we’re going to play only two chords. The first one is a Bm. And we come with the index finger and we hold down all the strings on the 7th fret. And at the same time we
put the ring finger on the 9th fret 5th string and pinky finger 9th fret 4th string. And on the right hand we’re going to strum like this: we play one time the 6th string. Then we play a downstroke and upstroke. And we’re going to play it two times. I play it slowly. The 6th string, then downstroke, upstroke. And once we have played that we move
the left hand. Exactly the same position, to the 2nd fret. So there we get an F#m And the strum in this chords is a
little bit different. We’re going to play the 6th string two times and then a downstroke. And we play it as well two times. So when we put together those two chords we get this: I play it one more time. Perfect. And when we have played these
two chords four times. On the fourth time, when we come to the second chord, we’re going to change the strumming and we’re going to play only eight notes, like this: So we play louder and louder. And after that we just have to start again and play the whole riff. Okay. So now I’m going to play the whole riff. And now we come to the fourth time… and then we just have to start again. And that’s how you play in the original way. But if you can’t play bar chords, I’m going to show you how to do it in a really easy way. We’re going to use a capo that we’re going to put on the 2nd fret. And we’re going to start playing an Am. We put the index finger on the 1st fret 2nd string, middle finger on the 2nd fret 4th string, and ring finger on the 2nd fret 3rd string. And the right hand plays like this: We’re going to play one time the 5th string. Then we play a downstroke, upstroke, and we do it two times. 5th string, downstroke, upstroke, 5th string, downstroke, upstroke. Do you get it? I play it slowly. Perfect. After that we’re going to lift
the index finger and we move that middle finger and ring finger one string up. And there we get an Em. And the strumming is a little bit different there. We’re going to play two times the 6th string. and then a downstroke. So we do: Do you get it? We have to play it two times as well. I play it one more time Okay. So putting together the two chords
we get this: And we have to keep repeating this. But when we come to the fourth time and we come to the Em. We’re going to
change the strumming pattern there. We’re going to play eighth notes like this: So we start a little bit quiet and we play louder and louder. Ok. So now I’m going to play the whole riff. And now we come to the fourth time. And then we just have to start again. And we just keep repeating this riff. And that’s how you play the song Numb The Pain.
